Welcome to my blog! Just a brief introduction of myself: My name is Lily Leventhal. I am a senior at UC Davis majoring in Human development, minoring in Psychology. I've just started my spring quarter abroad program at Kyoto, Japan. I will be living and studying at Kyoto Seika University, which is slightly north of downtown Kyoto.
I made it to Japan on late Friday afternoon ( Mar 29) and today is Monday morning. We've had these last couple days to ourselves, so most all of us went out to explore Japan for the first time. I don't know if I speak for many of us, but Japan is not exactly how I'd picture it to be, or at least Kyoto.
Changing gears a bit, I want to just set fourth some goals I have for this blog:
1. Update people who are interested in keeping up with me on what's happening while I'm in Japan on a weekly basis.
2. Give prospective study abroad participants (esp. those interested in going to Japan or this specific program) a place to go to for information.
3. Relate some of what I see here in Japan to psychology. Use this as an opportunity to explore cross-cultural differences.
Alrighty, so that'll be all for now; I look forward to falling more in love with Japan, staying dedicated to this blog and my goals, and improving my Japanese in these next coming weeks!
