One piece of advice for those about to venture abroad:
My one piece of advice for those traveling abroad would be to really immerse yourself in the language of the country. When you make an extensive effort to learn the language you'll find yourself speaking with the locals more often. Whether it's just saying something simple like good morning or asking where the restroom is, making the effort to speak with the people around you will be beneficial for yourself, and them as well. I've found that it's the people that you meet during your study abroad that can really make it an unforgettable experience.
More about me:
I'm an Environmental Science and Management major in my final academic year at UC Davis. I've been fortunate enough to travel to many countries around the world throughout my life and I don't intend to stop anytime soon. This past summer I studied abroad in Bhutan and it was an incredible experience. Hopefully the photos that I upload will persuade other students to want to study abroad in Bhutan as well.
